What Type of Flatbread Should I Use?
If you haven't worked with flatbread before, you'll find a number of options in your grocery store. Of course, you can also make your own homemade flatbread if you prefer.
A plain flatbread works great for this to be the ideal base for the flavors, but you can also choose a flavored option or even add herbs to the olive oil for added flavor.
I personally like the Flatout brand for lower-calorie options. You can also use St. Joseph wheat and seed options. Another good option to use is naan if you have it available and can't find flatbread in your grocery store.

How to Make a Chicken Bacon Ranch Flatbread
Pat the chicken dry then cut into 1" pieces and season with the Italian seasoning.
In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.
Add the chicken, bell peppers, and garlic to the skillet, and cook, stirring regularly for 3 to 4 minutes.
Check the doneness of the chicken, and continue cooking for an additional 3 to 4 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and has reached 165°F internally. Remove from heat and set aside.
Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Drizzle the flatbread with olive oil and cut it in half to fit on the baking sheet if needed.
Add ½ of the cheese over the flatbread.
Top with the chicken and peppers.
Then add crumbled cooked bacon and spinach on top of the chicken.
Top this with the remaining cheese and sprinkle with additional Italian seasoning if desired.
Bake for 10 to 15 minutes until the cheese is melted and the pizza is heated through.
Remove from the oven and drizzle with ranch dressing before slicing to serve.
Frequently Asked Questions
I love how easy it is to use leftover chicken in this recipe, including leftover rotisserie chicken. Just shred the chicken and spread it over the top of your flatbread.
If you are in a real hurry, you can also use canned chicken. Make sure to drain it well. Use whatever chicken you have on hand when making this chicken bacon ranch flatbread.
I love the saltiness of pork bacon, preferably uncured bacon, however, you can also use other types of bacon. Sometimes, you want to use a different type of bacon for dietary restrictions or just because you like the flavor better. Cured bacon and turkey bacon are great choices in this flatbread pizza.
Ranch dressing is made with different types of acids, including vinegar and lemon juice. You can buy it in the store or make your own at home using buttermilk, mayonnaise, sour cream, dried dill, black pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, and salt. It’s great to use on salads too.
Some people make ranch dressing by using ranch seasoning packets and some people make it from scratch adding their own spices and seasonings.
Whether you use store-bought ranch dressing, semi-homemade from a seasoning pouch, or from scratch, ranch tastes amazing on this pizza and you can use any of them.
I love using an Italian cheese blend on this pizza because it has a great flavor and melts well. However, you could also just mozzarella, cheddar cheese, Swiss cheese, or any other type of melting cheese. Provolone would be a great choice too!
The important part when choosing cheese for this easy pizza is that the cheese melts. No matter what type of cheese you choose, it will taste amazing with the chicken, bacon, and ranch flavors.
