How to Make Peach Cobbler Dessert Wontons
In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. While it melts, slice the peaches if needed.
Then, add the peaches, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and spices to the pan with the butter. Stir, and increase the heat to medium-high. Cook, stirring regularly, until a thick syrup forms.
Remove this from the heat source and stir in the vanilla extract.
Now, you will assemble the wontons. You will use 12 wrappers, depending upon the size you make each wonton. Egg roll wrappers can also be used, cut into 4 squares, and turned into smaller cobbler bites.
Lay out half of the square wonton wrappers on a clean surface. Then add a spoon of the peach filling to the center of each wrapper, leaving space around the edges.
Use a pastry brush or finger to add a bit of water around the edges of the wonton. Then, place a second wrapper over the top of the first. Now, you will fold the edges together and crimp them with a fork to seal them into a pouch.
In a deep skillet or deep fryer, heat oil to 350°F. Once hot, carefully place the wontons into the hot oil, being careful to not overcrowd the fryer. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes per side, until golden brown. Remove and let drain on paper towels. Repeat this until all wontons are fried.
In a small bowl, stir together the cinnamon and sugar, and toss the fried wontons in the cinnamon sugar before serving.
