There are a few different types and options, and this pudding has a bit of the Kinder Joy egg flavor in every bite.
This recipe is simple to follow and only requires a few ingredients that you probably already have in your kitchen and is truly a delicious treat that is going to become a family favorite. - 4 ounces white chocolate (113 g)
- 1 cup evaporated milk (236 ml)
- 1 Giotto bar or 6 Ferraro Rocher truffles
- 4 tablespoons Nutella

How to Make Kinder Joy Pudding
Chop the white chocolate into pieces then place it into a heat save bowl.
In a small saucepan or double boiler, bring water to a boil (at least 1 cup). Once the water is at a rolling boil, add the bowl of chocolate over the top. If using a double boiler, you can use the top piece directly if desired.
Let the chocolate melt, while using a spoon or whisk to stir it regularly so it doesn't burn.
Once it is mostly melted, add in the evaporated milk and whisk or stir to combine.
Continue cooking for another 2 minutes, stirring constantly, until the mixture has begun to thicken. Then remove it from the heat.
In your dessert cups or bowls, divide the Nutella on the bottom of the bowls. I used 2 cups and put 2 tablespoons per cup.
Then pour the chocolate mixture over the top of the Nutella. Divide equally among serving dishes.
Add 2 to 3 Giotto balls or Ferraro Rocher truffles to each dessert cup then cover it loosely and chill for at least 30-minutes.
You can add additional melted Nutella drizzle or crumbled hazelnut candy bar over the top before serving it.

This pudding can be stored in the fridge for up to one week. After that, it may not be as enjoyable to eat. If you want to make it ahead of time, I recommend making the chocolate pudding portion and keeping it refrigerated, then assembling it just before serving with the Nutella and cany in a dessert bowl or cup.
While it is tempting to make it in large batches ahead of time, I don't recommend doing so as it will not freeze and thaw well. It will not freeze and thaw well.
How Can I Serve Kinder Joy Pudding?
This is different from most homemade puddings I have had in the past as it doesn't really use a roux base, but instead a simple chocolate mixture with milk. So, topping the pudding itself is a little different than I might normally go with.
I like the idea of making this in individual dessert cups as shown here and then topping with the candy pieces just before serving. If you want to add something a little extra to each dish, below are some good ideas.
- Heat Nutella for a few seconds to make it a bit thinner, then drizzle part of it over the top of the pudding rather than just layering it in the cup.
- Crush hazelnuts and sprinkle over the top of the pudding cups.
- Add shaved white or milk chocolate over the top of the pudding cup.
- If using a dessert cup similar to the one shown, dip the edge of the mug into a bit of Nutella, then into crushed hazelnuts.
