Looking for a tasty game day dish? These Mississippi Sin ham sliders are sure to please! They are easy to make and perfect for feeding a crowd. These sliders are made with ham, a combination of cheeses, a simple sauce, and a soft bun then baked until melted and golden. Not only are they easy to assemble, but everyone will love them on a buffet table or in a lunchbox!
Mississippi Sin Ham Sliders
This Mississippi Sin ham sliders recipe features ham and cheese with tons of flavor from a cream cheese-based sauce. Instead of using a traditional condiment on this sandwich, you create a nice creamy mixture of cheeses and hot sauce that brings tons of flavor and texture to each bite.
I love using this recipe for game days, but it's also a personal favorite in a kid's lunch box. They are definitely best served hot with melty cheese but are good enough to serve cold. You can even serve them with lettuce, tomato, and onion added to the sandwich after it has been baked.
What Should I Serve With Ham Sliders?
When serving these on game day or at a party, I like to add a bowl of baked spinach artichoke dip or guacamole with my favorite veggies and tortilla chips for dipping.
You can also serve it with a simple American potato salad or even a tasty Mediterranean pasta salad. Of course, a fruit salad is another fresh option that goes great with these ham sliders.
If you want something a bit more substantial, a side of macaroni and cheese or even cheesy twice-baked potatoes can be a great addition to the menu. And, of course, the classic standby of chips on the side is always a good idea.

How to Make Mississippi Ham Sliders
I start by preheating the oven to 400°F then lining a baking sheet and a baking dish both with parchment paper. Set aside the baking dish, then put the slices of bacon onto the baking sheet.
Cook the bacon for 15 to 18 minutes, until the desired doneness. I prefer it crisper, so would cook between 18 and 20 minutes, but many like softer bacon that would be ready at 15 minutes.
Remove the bacon from the oven and remove it from the baking dish and let it drain on paper towels for 5 minutes before cutting it into small pieces.
While the bacon cools, mix together the cream cheese, cheddar cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, green onions, hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder together in a large bowl.
Stir in the cooled chopped bacon pieces.
If using rolls, slice them in half and place the bottom half onto the parchment-lined baking dish. If using slider buns, just place the bottom half into the baking dish.
Top the slider buns with ½ the sauce mixture. Then spread the other half onto the other side of the buns.
Layer sliced ham over the bottom buns, then top with the second half of the bun.
Brush the tops of the sandwiches with melted butter.
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes, remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 15 minutes or until heated through, the cheese has melted, and the tops are golden brown.
They are best served hot and fresh from the oven.
Frequently Asked Questions
There is no set type of bun that works best with these Mississippi sin ham sliders. While they are called sliders, you can make them with a traditional sandwich bun size if you prefer.
Some common options are Hawaiian rolls, dinner rolls, sesame seed buns, poppyseed buns, onion rolls, or even pretzel rolls. For a little sweeter and more buttery option, you can make these with brioche buns or even croissants.
This is most commonly made with basic sliced lunch meat or sandwich ham. However, it can be made with leftover ham you made for a holiday, or even a small spiral ham if that is what you have on hand. Just make sure you slice the pieces evenly so they are easy to serve as a sandwich.
Yes, while I love the saltiness of pork bacon in this recipe, if you are trying to cut the calories and fat in this Mississippi Sin ham slider you can switch the bacon to turkey bacon. I have even seen this made without the bacon completely or even with chicken bacon. This is totally up to you and your preferences.
While these are best served fresh and hot, they can be allowed to cool, wrapped, or stored in an airtight container, then reheated when ready to serve. I recommend serving these within the first 3 to 4 days of making them. After that point, the buns may become soggy and unpleasant to eat.
