Hello there...Your nassi recipe looks good. If you cannot find Kecap Manis, suggest mixing brown sugar with regular soy sauce til syrupy. Nassi is basically a leftover meal eaten at breakfast therefore the fried egg on top. Also you can use pork and shrimp or chicken and shrimp combined. Rice needs to be cold and NOT overcooked to get the loose sautéed mixture.
If possible, get the shrimp dried crackers as a side as shown in your picture and deep fry these. Ice cold beer and cucumber sticks go perfect with this meal.

My mom made nasi goreng growing up and I always loved it. I look forward to trying your recipe. Quick question, what is the name of the puffed snacks in the top part of the photo? My mom used to make those too but I can't remember their name and I'd like to find those as well.
Many thanks.

Quick and delicious, I think it needs another tablespoon of Kecap Manis to make it darker and flavour intense. Love your recipes!

Hi
I lived in Singapore as a child in the 1950's. Mum used to make Nasi Goreng but used tomato sauce instead of the chillies for us children and we loved it - still do love it. but I now use chilli sauce instead of tomato sauce.
