How to Make Southwest Pizza Dippers
Start by lining your pizza pan or baking sheet with parchment paper, then preheat the oven to 400°F/200°C.
On the prepared baking sheet, unroll the pizza dough into a circle, or unroll and arrange the crescent roll dough into a circle with the pointed end facing outwards so the wide edges are touching in the circle.
Now, add a plate to the center of the pizza dough if using it, this will help you make the ring shape easier.
Then, spread the pasta or pizza sauce around the ring of dough evenly.
Top the sauce with the cooked sausage or sliced salami, drained corn, and drained beans.
Then, spread the two kinds of cheese over the top of the fillings covering them well.
Now, remove the bowl from the middle, and slice the center dough into triangles. Then, fold these over to meet the other side and crimp to seal. If using crescent rolls, you will fold from the outside inward.
The dough will not cover all of the toppings. You will see them between each strip of dough. This is what you want.
Whisk the egg to create a simple egg wash then brush it over the top of the dough. Sprinkle it with sesame seeds.
Bake for 20 minutes or until it is golden brown on top and cooked through.

- 1 egg yolk
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
- ¼ cup fresh chopped parsley
